Q: Why does Juliet kill herself when she could be free?
A: Juliet kills herself because she sees that Romeo is dead from poison. She loves Romeo so much, more than the world. She wants to be with him even if that means death. If she didn’t kill herself her parents would find out about the potion and she would probably be in big trouble for that, plus she would have to marry Paris. She would rather KILL herself than marry Paris. Her parents make it look like they don’t love her and the Nurse betrayed her. Of coarse she is going to kill herself!
Q: Was it wise for Friar Lawrence to give the potion to Juliet? Why or why not?
A: I think it’s perfectly okay that he gave Juliet the potion. I thought it was a great idea; make it look like she is dead so that she can’t feel anything but she would wake up in Romeo’s arms. It was perfect, but the communication was awful! That’s what got their arms tied up was because the lack of communication was poor, they should have told Romeo right off the bat or found a new way to tell him or something. But I thought the potion was a good idea!
Q: Was it right for Romeo and Juliet to run off and get married? Or was it foolish? Or both? Explain your response.
A: I don’t think it was foolish necessarily because the 2 families had a feud towards each other. If they loved each other I think they should have gotten married. But they probably should have run away after that or something not stuck around for so long or not have done it so quick! They handled it quite immaturely, but their so young and in “love.” It was unfortunate that the 2 families hated each other because if they didn’t then it would have worked out perfectly. But the parents don’t care about their children, at least Juliet’s side, they just want things to go the way they want, so I think Juliet should be able to do whatever she wants since her parents hardly care about her! How rude.
